Grebišće●

Grebišće is one of the island's few true sands — a pale shelf under pines, the water staying shallow for a long time, the kind of bay families keep to. It belongs to Jelsa, on the north shore, a short way east of the harbour. Come early; by midday the shade is the prize. There is a path down from the road. Closed shoes help on the last metres, then the sand does the rest.
